Staff Software Engineer Radiology
Improving system quality by identifying issues and common patterns and developing standard operating procedures. Enhancing applications by identifying opportunities for improvement, making recommendations and designing and implementing systems.
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role are to:
- Develop scalable and secure cloud-based healthcare software as part of an agile product development team
- Perform application/sub-system level software design and architecture
- Provide technical leadership, code reviews, and coordination as part of a scrum team
- Lead solution proof of concepts as needed to validate new technologies and approaches
- Collaborate with product owners, clinical stakeholders, and customer success teams to identify solution requirements and drive appropriate software design decisions
- Demonstrate independent analysis and synthesis of solutions for problems, exhibiting creativity, foresight, innovation and judgment in anticipating and solving these problems
- Work in accordance to the Bayer Quality Management System and processes for regulated software medical devices.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Relevant software development experience
- A solid foundation in computer science with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Experience developing services and APIs using Java and Spring Framework
- Strong database design and development skills using both SQL and NoSQL databases such as MySQL, Postgres, BigQuery, Firestore, MongoDB or Elasticsearch.
- Experience developing and deploying applications using cloud services in AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Deep understanding of common architectural patterns such as SOA, microservices, RESTFUL APIs, enterprise integrations patterns, layered/multi-tiered systems, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least eight years of relevant software development experience;
- Healthcare system (e.g. RIS, PACS, EMR, Dictation) integration using standards such as DICOM, FHIR, and HL7 v2.
- Experience working in healthcare industry, medical imaging, or developing SaaS products
- Google Cloud Platform Certifications or hands-on experience developing solutions with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services
Employees can expect to be paid a salary of between $138,000 to $207,000. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
