Position Title: Staff Accountant

Position Overview: We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our client's finance team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of accounting principles and a passion for the commercial construction sector. This role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial success of our projects and be part of a dynamic construction environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, for commercial construction projects.
- Conduct regular financial analysis to monitor project performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and forecasts to support project planning and decision-making.
Accounts Payable/Receivable:
- Oversee accounts payable processes, including invoice verification, payment processing, and vendor management, for commercial construction projects.
- Manage accounts receivable activities, including billing, invoicing, and collections, to ensure timely payment from clients.
- Reconcile vendor and client accounts, resolving any discrepancies promptly.
Payroll Processing:
- Coordinate payroll processing for project staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Maintain payroll records and handle employee inquiries related to payroll, benefits, and deductions.
- Collaborate with HR and project managers to address payroll-related issues and concerns.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA certification or progress towards CPA preferred.
- Previous experience in the commercial construction industry or related field is a plus.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage), Microsoft Excel, and other financial tools.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
