POSITION: Staff Accountant
COMPENSATION: $70,000 - $88,000/Year DOE

This position offers a 4% of annual salary sign-on bonus for new hires!
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: This position is responsible for maintaining financial records, general ledgers, analyzing budgets and performing general bookkeeping using GAAP principles including analytical work and thorough review of financial reports.
PREREQUISITES:
- Accounting degree or coursework or equivalent desired.
- Yardi experience is highly desired.
- Finance, accounting, and payroll experience.
- Excel proficiency essential.
- Must be flexible in attitude and work schedule.
- Good communication skills and written/oral presentation capability.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills; demonstrate the ability to be self-motivated and be detail oriented.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Must be able to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient knowledge of MS office, emphasis in excel.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Proficient level of professional skill and or knowledge in accounting and keep current with developments and trends.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are normal for this position but this list is not to be deemed all-encompassing. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Handle month end closing and general ledger entries.
- Review the daily and monthly cash reconciliations, expenses, and balances.
- Oversee the accounts payable process and provide final review.
- Prepare and analyze the monthly budget to actual variance reports per property.
- Process payroll.
- Develops and implements accounting procedures by researching and interpreting data.
- Prepares general ledger entries by maintaining records and files, reconciling accounts.
- Perform general accounts analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, employers benefit costs, accruals, amortizations, debt reconciliations and interest accruals and prepaid expenses.
- Review AR (Tenants and Subsidy) and Allowance for doubtful accounts.
- Reserve and impound reconciliations.
- Security deposit liability reconciliation.
- Analyzes, investigates, and explains budget variances, seeking input from Asset Managers and Property Supervisors as necessary.
- Executes accurate and timely electronic book transfers and wire transfers.
- Maintains all property financial files and statements and provides to auditors and external agencies as required.
- Monitors capital expenses and prepares reserve request draws.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
