What we expect
This is a hybrid (40% remote and 60% onsite) role in San Francisco, CA.
Odoo is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the growing Finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various activities related to Odoo's accounting cycles, including timeliness and accuracy of accounting records, completing various reconciliations, creating reports, coordinating with external tax firms, performing financial analysis, and preparing financial statements. This individual will collaborate with other team members and report to the Head of Finance.
Responsibilities
- Review the customer sales order, post invoices, and reconcile incoming payments
- Respond to and solve customers and internal inquiries related to invoices and payments
- Perform month-end closing related to accounts receivable, including reconciliation of payment acquires
- Onboard new vendors, process vendor invoices, and create payment batches
- Audit marketing contracts and facilitate the payment approval process
- Maintain excellent communication and relationships with vendors and employees
- Understand current business procedures and improve existing monthly controls using Excel and filters in the ERP system
- Participate in the design and implementation of company policies, including accounting processes based on best practices
- Review and manage aged payable and aged receivable balances
- Monitor the ERP system and report bugs/issues, and offer feedback to the internal ERP team
- Assist with month-end close by preparing and documenting prepaid expenses, accrued expenses, and other closing-related journal entries
Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting or STEM fields
- 1+ years experience related to accounting or data analysis
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Outgoing team player and team contributor
- Good understanding of U.S GAAP
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Able to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Must be a self-starter and willing to assume ownership of assigned projects and duties
Nice to Have
- 1+ years of accounting software experience such as Oracle NetSuite, SAP
- 1+ years experience related to ERP system
- 1+ Prior experience in an accounting firm

The estimated annual compensation range for this role is $70,000-$100,000. Please note that actual salaries may vary within, above, or below this range based on factors such as education, training, experience, professional achievement, business needs, and location.
