Job Details
Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded. This includes bank and balance sheet reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing month-end close procedures, and providing accurate financial reports.
Your duties will encompass a wide range of activities including, but not limited to:
- Preparing accurate and timely journal entries and ensuring the correctness of entries for accurate monthly financial statements for a portfolio of hotels.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Reconciling balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
- Working closely with the finance team to improve financial procedures.
- Providing support in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
- Ensuring compliance with GAAP principles.
- Participating in ad-hoc projects as needed.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of accounting experience, specifically with posting accrual-basis journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (Yardi is ideal).
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to meet crucial deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
