Role: Staff Accountant / Payroll Accountant
This role is currently contract to direct hire.

Job Description:
As the staff accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring timely payroll processing. You will work closely with management to support financial decision-making and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accountancy Duties:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts
- Process and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Ensure accurate tax reporting and filing, including VAT, income tax, etc.
- Support in the preparation for audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards
- Payroll Duties:
- Process and manage the payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant laws
- Calculate wages, bonuses, deductions, and other payroll-related transactions
- Maintain payroll records and ensure timely submission of tax filings (including payroll taxes)
- Prepare and issue pay slips and assist with any payroll-related queries
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, benefits, and taxation policies related to payroll
- Additional Responsibilities:
- Provide financial reports and insights to management
- Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks and manage company expenses
- Assist with financial analysis, forecasting, and planning
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience as an Accountant or Payroll Accountant 3-5 yrs+ preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, payroll processes, and tax laws
- Proficiency in accounting/payroll software (Sage or ADP highly preferred)
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory requirements regarding payroll and tax
