StevenDouglas is exclusively partnering with a high-growth, private equity backed organization that is actively seeking a Staff Accountant for their team. Reporting to the Controller with heavy exposure to the firm's C-Suite, the Staff Accountant will play an imperative role in supporting the accounting functions for the firm. You will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting functions of the firm including supporting the General Ledger, and ensuring all transactions are GAAP Compliant. Responsibilities also include preparing daily/monthly journal entries, performing balance sheet reconciliations, helping prepare financial reporting packages, and assisting with creating financial statements.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure all accounting processes align with GAAP
• Prepare and record journal entries to the general ledger. Perform functions of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.
• Record cash transactions and prepare bank reconciliations.
• Review P&L for variances and record reclasses and accruals as needed
• Assist with the annual financial audit
• Responds to inquiries from company managers regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc.

Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or related field
• Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to interact with Senior Management
