Responsibilities:
As a Staff Accountant, you will be an essential part of our financial team, handling a variety of tasks that ensure the smooth operation of our fiscal activities. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Managing vendor relationships, ensuring timely and accurate payments while maintaining excellent rapport with our business partners.
2. Scheduling payments and managing cash flow to optimize our financial resources.
3. Performing account reconciliation to ensure accuracy and completeness of our financial records.
4. Handling month-end closing activities, including the preparation of financial statements and reports.
5. Maintaining the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and categorized.
6. Managing accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), ensuring all transactions are processed promptly and accurately.
7. Providing expert financial advice and insights to help shape our business strategy and drive growth.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for this role is a seasoned accountant with a strong understanding of the energy industry and a track record of excellence in financial management. Specific qualifications for this role include:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the insurance industry.
3. Proficiency in vendor management, payment scheduling, account reconciliation, month-end closing, general ledger maintenance, and AP and AR management.
4. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in clear, concise terms.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
7. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
