Job Details:
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in the healthcare industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a variety of financial tasks, including the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, and financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of Grant, Grants, SEFA, SSES, GAAP, funds, and cash, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities:

Prepare financial statements, business activity reports, and forecasts.
Monitor financial details to ensure legal compliance.
Supervise other employees in the financial department, including accountants and financial assistants.
Analyze company financial records to improve budgeting or planning.
Prepare and submit SEFA reports in a timely and accurate manner.
Manage grant-related post award activities including budget and expense analysis, periodic invoicing, financial reporting, labor distribution changes, re-budgeting, and grant closeout functions.
Ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
Conduct detailed account analysis and reconcile sales, cost, and inventory, liability accounts.
Drive process improvement and policy development initiatives that impact the function.
Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and closeout those accounts once the related projects have been completed.
Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
1-2 years of accounting experience
Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures and principles.
Experience with financial software and MS Excel.
In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
Hands-on experience with accounting software packages.
Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
Intermediate understanding of accounting and reporting standards.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
