Objectives of this role
- Execute general ledger account reconciliations, accurate reporting, and data verification, enabling senior staff to analyze options and make financial decisions aligned with company objectives
- Monitor policies and procedures for assigned departments, and identify and suggest improvements for accounting reports and procedures
- Payroll management and review of wages, deductions, commissions, bonuses, and taxes
Responsibilities at CIG
- Monthly, Quarterly, Annual Close - assist Controller as needed
- Balance Sheet Reconciliation – prepare monthly including bank accounts, prepaids, intercompany
- Payroll - prepare bi-monthly payroll, calculate commissions, monitor policies
- Benefits – reconcile statement, deduction tracking
- Fixed Assets - maintain register, review purchases for policy compliance, calculate monthly depreciation
- Credit Card – manage use, review charges, collect receipts, code statements, invoice intercompany charges
- Revenue - post monthly rent and recurring charges
- Calculate management fees
- As needed - record journal entries, third-party billing, Sales & Use tax payments, Accounts Payable backup
Skills and Competencies
- Competence with financial software and technology
- Understanding of financial and accounting standards and regulations
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and organize effectively
- Willingness to learn payroll
- GAAP accounting knowledge required
- Development or Property Management experience preferred
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- Two or more years of professional accounting experience
- This position is 40 hours per week, with some overtime during year-end
- This position is ONSITE, located in Cincinnati, Ohio
- This position will report to the Finance Manager
