WellBe Senior Medical is an innovative, private-equity backed healthcare company focused on providing the highest quality geriatric care (care of older adults) to frail, elderly Medicare Advantage patients with multiple chronic medical conditions. This population is typically underserved and very challenged with access to quality care. To address these problems, WellBe has elected to bring the care to the patient, instead of trying to bring the patient to the care. Care is provided throughout the entire continuum of care – from chronic care and urgent care in the home, to hospital, to skilled nursing facility, to assisted living, to palliative care, to end of life care. WellBe's physician-led geriatric care teams provide “concierge” level geriatric medical care and social support in the home as well as delivering and coordinating care across the entire continuum.
This is an integral role at an innovative, fast-growing, private-equity backed healthcare company. You will be responsible for administering a full range of accounting functions including but not limited to preparation of journal entries, monthly reconciliations, analytical review, and process improvement. The staff accountant will ensure accuracy and timely submission of transactions as well as resolution of discrepancies. As an vital member of our growing accounting team, this role will support the organization while gaining exposure to internal departments including IT, marketing, and operations.
Job Description:Responsibilities
- Perform daily and monthly accounting activities for WellBe including all consolidated entities
- Ensure the accuracy of accounting information by verifying and recording transactions, and reconciling GL accounts
- Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis
- Maintain the fixed asset listing and account reconciliation by recording monthly depreciation, new acquisitions, and asset disposals as necessary
- Provide support to A/P, A/R, and cash management functions
- Ensure all assigned balance sheet items are recorded in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with GAAP
- Assist with ad hoc expense analysis, budget, audit, tax and other reporting as requested by management
- Propose and help implement changes in accounting procedures and account reconciliations to increase efficiency and ensure accuracy
- Take on additional responsibilities as the business continues to grow
- Other tasks needed to accomplish team’s objectives/goals
Educational Requirements:
- BA/BS degree from an accredited university majoring in business or related field
- 2+ years of accounting, auditing, or bookkeeping experience
- CPA or currently pursuing CPA (preferred)
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of products, primarily Excel
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal and organizational skills, including balancing multiple deadlines
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and responsibilities in a dynamic work environment
- Experience with NetSuite accounting software (preferred)
- At least two years of accounting or auditing experience in public accounting (preferred)
- Experience in healthcare industry (preferred)
Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibilities.
Travel requirements: Travel may be required up to 10% locally or nationally

- Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to frequently operate a keyboard, telephone, copier, calculator, and other office equipment.

- Requires moderate to intense concentration due to complexity and/or need to meet deadlines, and flexibility to readily adapt to a changing environment.
