Staff Accountant
SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the Staff Accountant provides the best possible support to the Accounting Manager by performing a variety of daily and monthly accounting transactions and aids in the preparation of the monthly financial statements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide right hand support to the department
- Cross-train and improve processes that need updates for efficiency
- Participate and support month end closes, reconcile accounts, bank statements for the entities and maintain fixed assets
- Process Payroll in conjunction with HR
- Ensuring AP invoices and checks are cut to the multiple entities
- Process purchase orders to external and internal suppliers and follow-up on deliveries, etc
- Correspondence with suppliers to follow up on items, including setting up payment plans as needed
- Organize and track supplier past due payments and organize what has been paid
- Other duties may be assigned by Accounting Manager
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
This position requires a minimum of a four-year degree with a major in accounting and 2-3 years’ experience.
