The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing our financial operations to help improve our financial performance. The role is an integral part of our finance team and will involve working closely with various departments within the organization. Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Maintain the accuracy of the general ledger by preparing, posting, verifying, and reconciling transactions.
2. Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
3. Conduct variance analysis, prepare financial reports, and provide recommendations based on findings.
4. Utilize Netsuite to streamline and automate financial management processes.
5. Prepare elimination entries and assist in the consolidation of financial statements.
6. Respond to audit requests promptly and accurately, ensuring all information and documentation is provided as requested.
7. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
8. Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
9. Assist with tax audits and tax returns.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. 0-3 years experience in accounting or a related role.
3. Proficiency in General Ledger, Account Reconciliation, Variance Analysis, Elimination Entries, Consolidation, Audit Requests, and GL.
4. In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
5. Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
6. Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Excel.
7. Excellent organizational skills, ability to multitask, and attention to detail.
8. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
9. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
10. Experience in the energy industry would be an added advantage.
