Sr. Systems Engineer

• IT Project Management Experience (at least 2 years) within a high availability communication room and/or data center operating environment, day-to-day operational requirements, and the operation of production systems and equipment.
Responsibilities:
• IT Governance of all site implementations, inventories, infrastructure planning, escorting, preventative maintenances and break/fix services for data center critical infrastructure, IT certification labs, and remote communication room critical environment equipment.
• IT support of IT Labs to align our client application and engineering teams with workstations, hardware and access to test their application.
• Remote coordination in partnership with professional services responsible for critical infrastructure maintenance and break-fix activities at remote communication rooms.
• Management, operation, maintenance, and monitoring of all critical facilities infrastructure for data center and remote communication room equipment.
• Development of data center and remote communication room standards for space, power, cooling, and physical layer IT infrastructure.
• Support IT Facilities Campus Fiber Ring to maintain the integrity and service continuity of the Atlanta Airport and Campus Facilities underground fiber ring.
• Recommending and implementing departmental policy, guidelines, standards, and procedures.
• Assures compliance with all governing corporate standards and guidelines.
• Project management of data center and remote communication room standards capital improvements, upgrades, and enhancements.
• Selection of IT and Critical Facilities services, ensuring accurate documentation, securing best prices for products and services, and ensuring that vendors fulfill their contractual obligations.
• Builds and maintains effective communication and relationships with management team, vendors, and peers.
• Work with IT platform teams to understand scope of projects requiring the installation and/or decommissioning of physical assets in the data centers.
• Designs floor layout relocation or removal or raised floor hardware, capital project consulting services.
• Governs the design, implementation, and vendor support of the appropriate electrical power, A/C, Fire suppression, security, floor maintenance and cabling programs for communication rooms and data halls.
• Provide proactive and break fix support for alarm/ticket remediation related to facilities, remote communication rooms, lab, and data center equipment.
• Maintain strict adherence to change control activities.
• Operational Sustainability of FTO Critical Environment Infrastructure.
• Develop Design Standards for RCR Space, UPS, HVAC, Generators, and Fire Life and Safety Systems (FLS).
• Remote Coordination of FTO Critical Infrastructure Maintenance and Break-Fix activities.
• Review/Store Maintenance Records.
• Ensure discrepancies are remediated.
• Provide Remote Incident Management Resolution for FTO Critical Equipment.
• Provide remote installation, configuration, and operational support.
• Submit equipment orders for inventory, campus & FTO projects.
• Capital Forecast and Project Management for FTO Critical Equipment Life Cycle Replacement.
• Support CRE projects that relate to RCR Design/Build as IT Facilities Representatives.
• RCR On-Site Assessment Reports.
• Space, UPS Power, and Critical Cooling Capacity Management.
• Balances multiple priorities within established time constraints
• Flexibility to support an operation with varying shifts, extended hours, and on-call requirements
• Provide remote installation, configuration, and project management support of critical facilities infrastructure in remote communication rooms.
• Provide proactive and break fix support for alarm/ticket remediation related to critical facilities infrastructure in remote communication rooms.
