Sr. Structural Engineer

Overview:

The Senior Structural Engineer plays a crucial role in the organization, overseeing and leading the structural design and analysis of various construction projects. This position is pivotal in ensuring the safety, durability, and efficiency of structures, and in providing technical guidance to the engineering team.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform structural analysis and design for buildings, bridges, and other structures

Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and drafters

Coordinate with architects and contractors to ensure structural integrity and compliance with design specifications

Develop and review construction drawings and specifications

Conduct site visits and assessments to verify structural integrity and resolve any issues

Participate in project meetings and provide input on design and construction planning

Utilize engineering software and tools for design and analysis

Prepare technical reports and documentation

Ensure compliance with building codes and regulations

Manage project budgets and timelines

Conduct feasibility studies for new construction projects

Perform quality control and assurance on structural designs

Provide input on material selection and construction methods

Stay updated on industry standards and best practices

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on projects

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering

Professional Engineer (PE) licensure

Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering

Extensive knowledge of structural analysis and design principles

Proficiency in AutoCAD and other related software

Strong understanding of construction codes and standards

Excellent project management skills

Ability to perform complex structural calculations
