Atherton & Associates, LLP is seeking a detail-oriented, experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our team and contribute to our ongoing growth and continued excellence in service to our clients within our Client Advisory Services (CAS) department. About The Job:
- Monitor and manage financial processes, ensuring alignment with Firm guidelines and internal financial policies.
- Prepare client financial reports weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.
- Manage and reconcile the clients' accounts payables and receivables.
- Reconcile sales and inventory reports.
- Assist in creating budgets.
- Work collaboratively with clients' personnel to help solve financial and clerical issues.
- Create, review, and maintain accounting records as well as keeping a record of business transactions.
- Process payroll using client-provided timekeeping records.
- Prepare quarterly filings for payroll, mill, and sales tax in accordance with statutory deadlines.
- Assist in training of less experienced accountants, delegate assignments and review their work.
- Assist clients with accounting setup, including software data migration and setting up chart of accounts.
- Track fixed asset activity & maintain depreciation schedule.
- Reconcile trial balance and other tasks for month-end close.
- Perform special accounting and finance projects as needed.
About You:
- Bachelor's in Accounting or relevant field or commensurate experience
- 3+ years of progressively responsible relevant work experience
- GAAP proficiency preferred
- Software Experience: QuickBooks Suite, including online required; MS Word & Excel
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and projects in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
- Critical thinking and problem solving
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service focus and interpersonal skills, ability to effectively collaborate with internal team members and clients.

Nice to Haves:
- Prior experience at a CPA firm is not required, but may help you get your sea legs faster
- CPA license is desirable, but not a requirement
