Sr. Product Designer / UX Designer - Mission Driven Health Startup

Location: Redwood City, CA (you can work from home 5 days every 2 weeks)

The company was named one of Fast Company's most innovative companies under 50 employees. Its founder has been named to Forbes 30 under 30.

The company has raised series B funding and thousands of customers including many Fortune 500 companies. It has about 50 employees, 13 engineers, and 2 Product Designers, and is rapidly growing.

The company will pay a salary up to $180k plus annual performance bonuses (up to15% of salary) and equity which could be lucrative.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conducting user research with existing customers, research panels, and industry experts to challenge design decisions and identify opportunity areas for future products.

• Synthesizing user and business needs to define the scope and requirements for releases.

• Using wireframes, sketches, journey maps, and other tools to create user experiences that simplify complex problems.

• Drafting high-fidelity, build-ready prototypes for multiple user interfaces (Web, iOS, Android) utilizing the best practices in responsive design.

• Conducting usability testing to collect qualitative and quantitative feedback that identifies any friction in current products.

• Facilitating meetings and brainstorming sessions that champion design methodologies.

Qualifications:

• At least 5 years of professional experience in UX/product design, designing consumer-facing products.

• A portfolio demonstrating human-centered design for products that shipped.

• Demonstrated creative problem-solving abilities and a portfolio showcasing high-impact design projects.

• Proven ability to navigate cross-functional work and lead design projects with minimal oversight.

• Skilled with user experience, qualitative user research, and quantitative user research, and user interfaces.

• Technical Fluency

• Growth Mindset

• Humility

• Ability to manage ambiguity.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in B2B design.

• Background from top tier startups, top design firms, or top tech companies.

• Degree in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI).
