Sr. Personal Injury Paralegal
A law firm based in midtown Manhattan is looking for a Sr. Personal Injury Paralegal to join their team. A personal injury paralegal may specialize in the plaintiff's injury or the defendant's personal injury.
Job Description:
Conducting in-depth intakes of potential clients and entering all information into the firm’s database;
Maintaining open communication with clients regularly to provide case updates, answer all questions, and provide exceptional client services;
Reporting claims with insurance carriers, filing for No-Fault benefits, and sending pre-litigation legal correspondence to all involved parties;
Case and calendar management;
Obtaining client's medical records, sending special damages packages, and other claims-related responsibilities with Insurance Companies;
Preparing HIPPA authorizations;
Coordinating and confirming EUOs, 50h hearings, IMEs, EBTs, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances with clients;
Drafting Notice of Claims; Complaints, Bills of Particulars, Discovery Responses, and Demands;
RJIs/Conference Requests and Motions;
Drafting releases, stipulations, and closing statements;
Contacting providers to obtain and negotiate liens for disbursements;
Letter writing;
Court E-Filings;
Properly and constantly documenting all events and communications;
Communication with opposing counsel and courts, if needed;
Responding to emails and returning calls in a timely fashion.
Entering and tracking information in the litigation case management system.
Conducting comprehensive research;
Exercising good judgment and meeting deadlines.
Qualifications:
Able to be in the office 5 days/week;
Paralegal Certificate (optional);
Must have at least 7 years of experience with a Personal Injury Law firm;
Worker's Compensation experience (optional);
Surrogate Court experience (optional);
Proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, Adobe, and familiarity with and/or willingness to learn other platforms and databases;
Strong verbal and written communication skills;
Excellent time management skills;
Bilingual: Spanish or Russian (optional)
Excellent Computer and Phone Skills;
Organized and Self-Motivated.
Job location: based in midtown Manhattan, NY
Full Time: In the Office
The candidate must have at least 7 years of experience with a Personal Injury Law firm and should be proficient in Microsoft Office, Word, and Adobe. A paralegal certificate is optional. Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent time management, and organizational skills are essential. Bilingual in Spanish or Russian is a plus.
