Duties:
Job Summary:
Network Administrator:
-Provides technical implementation and administration of networking technologies including switches, routers, VLANs, VPNs, LAN/WAN, wireless and external connections such as internet and remote offices.
-Preserves the safety and integrity of all network systems and data while minimizing downtime for critical systems, including maintaining highly available and redundance network configurations.
-Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
-Maintains the availability and performance of network and communications systems by monitoring key network metrics and software parameters.
-Follows company best practices and departmental/team customer service for problem resolution and tracking.
-Communicates status to customers in a timely manner and delivers excellent customer service.
-Assists with escalated helpdesk and telecom issues.
Network Implementation:
-Helps implement new technologies and assists with approved projects while ensuring appropriate change controls.
-Assists in developing and maintaining all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
-Assists in design and installation of internal and external networks.
Network Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
-Supports Meraki wireless and switching technologies including SD-WAN.
-On-going maintenance and configuration of network and server hardware.
-Troubleshoots network performance issues by using network tools.
-Ensures organizational network IP connectivity.
-Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
-Monitors activity logs and system performance metrics to anticipate issues.
-Monitors and analyzes network performance across the organizations LANS, WANS and wireless deployments.
-Provides network performance statistics when necessary.
-Assists with updates, patches and upgrades to ensure system availability.
-Recommends upgrades, patches and new applications and equipment.
Security Support:
-Prevents unauthorize access to network resources.
-Monitors and enforces compliance with the enterprise s security policies and procedures.
Communication:
-Maintain professional courtesy when faced with business pressures and frustrated customers.
-Keep a positive attitude while working with frequent interruptions.
-Provide timely and consistent customer service.
-Provides technical support and guidance to users.
-Senior Network Administrator the responsibilities and duties outlined below build upon the Network Administrator core responsibilities.
-The Senior Network Administrator will be expected to maintain Network Administrator responsibilities while taking on additional responsibilities related to system evaluation, process improvement, and client engagement.
-Advanced knowledge and skill in designing, configuring and implementing networking solutions.
-Participates and proactively initiates or implements process improvements with internal operations that advanced business and meet key strategic objectives.
-Mentors network administrators by providing feedback, training, and support.
Skills:
Required Skills & Experience:
Network Admin:
-3-5 years experience implementing, monitoring and supporting a large networking environment including LANS, WANS, and wireless.
Senior Network Admin:
-6+ years experience implementing, monitoring and supporting a large networking environment including LANS, WANS, and wireless.
-Creative and willing to learn and assist with special-purpose software and hardware.
-Strong oral and written communication skills.
-Proficient with Meraki wireless, switching, and SD-WAN.
-Proficient with Cisco routing and switching: Including OSPF, spanning tree, BGP, HRSP, and VRF.
-Proficient with DNS, DHCP, and SNMP.
-Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, ACLS, VLANs, network segmentation.
-Working knowledge of all OSI layers.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
-Cisco Nexus.
-iSCSI, Fibre Channel.
-Familiarity with networking medical devices.
-Azure networking.
