Industry leader in developing custom hydraulic solutions. We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering team. This position will focus on New Product Development and Continuous Product Improvement projects. A proven mechanical aptitude, willingness to work in a team environment, and ability to collaborate are all attributes we are looking for in a suitable candidate. Engineering team members must have strong communication skills, the ability to use data to get to the answers and be able to work with little oversight.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop engineering sketches, specifications and related data to determine design factors such as size, shape and layout of new designs.
- Select materials based on safety factor requirements and cost targets
- Perform mechanical and hydraulic analysis on cylinders
- Manage projects from receipt through full production
- Create manufacturing drawings for machining, welding and assembly
- Develop DFMEAs and subsequent Test plans to mitigate design risks
- Use Engineering CAD and analysis tools (e.g. CREO, ANSYS and MathCad)
- Interpret and apply industry standards (ASTM, ASME, ANSI, ABS, DNV etc.)
- Review and Develop project documentation following industry and internal standards
- Present and communicate design requirements to customers, suppliers and internal departments both written and orally.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain, Quality and Finance to ensure designs are streamlined for manufacturability through design reviews
- Evaluate and approve designs and specification changes through continuous improvement
- Able to assist with reliability testing
- Prepare interim and completion project reports.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in related field
- 5+ years of experience with mobile hydraulics
- Must be able to communicate effectively written and orally
- Demonstrated ability to embrace multiple responsibilities simultaneously with minimum guidance
- P.E License or Certified Fluid Power Engineer (CFPE) preferred
