Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer completes manufacturing engineering duties to meet safety, quality, production, and delivery requirements.
Principle Responsibilities
- Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plants.
- Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards
- Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout
- of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
- May assist in monitoring and determining manufacturing costs and outlay, quality and quantity of goods produced, production methods, tooling applications and ensure the effective use of production hours, skills, machines, equipment and facilities
- Works with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
- Assists maintenance in trouble shooting equipment issues.
- Assist in implementing long term correct actions to prevent maintenance down time.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
- Completes tooling and fixture designs using ProE and AutoCAD for use in production processes.
- Complete equipment justification, purchase and installation to support plant new product launch activities and operating goals.

- Ability to meet attendance standards. All full-time employees are required to work a 40-hr week. At times it may be necessary to work additional hours in order to get the required tasks accomplished to meet deadlines.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office software products, CAD, etc….

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear. Employees must use their hands to finger, handle, or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision for written work and PC use.
- The position is subject to extended periods of standing depending on the nature of the issues at hand. Along with this is the occasional lifting of boxes and bending/crouching to complete a task or group of tasks.
- Maintain confidentiality of certain information.
Education
- A Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Engineering Technology is required.
- A minimum of 10 year’s experience in a manufacturing engineering role is required.
- Extensive knowledge of lean manufacturing principles is preferred.
