Job Description:
The Sr. Field Service Technician is responsible for the quality and completion of all service work. Additionally, the Sr. Field Service Technician performs advanced troubleshooting and complex service diagnosis. This position is also responsible for training and developing other Field Service team members. The Field Service Technician must have the ability to work both independently and as a member of the branch team. The Field Service Technician will interact closely with the Branch Manager, the Dispatch department, and the Field Service Team.
Job Responsibilities:
- As a Field Service Technician, you are to follow OSHA safety guidelines to complete on-site solar electrical services while obtaining all necessary information.
- Interact with customers and coworkers, able to work both independently and as part of a multi-tasking team in a professional environment.
- Troubleshoot, maintain, service, and repair residential solar systems and associated equipment and provide customer satisfaction.
- Able to perform required preventive maintenance activities on Residential PV systems, and capable of training/mentoring others in the team as needed.
- Perform remote on-site customer services, including installing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing residential solar systems and related equipment.
- Complete thorough documentation and reports upon completion of each assigned job to comply with deliverables for our Partners.
- Proactively resolves equipment and system issues and can troubleshoot and overcome obstacles onsite.
- The focus of this role would primarily be solar PV systems.
- Sr. The Field Service Technician would report to the Regional Service Manager (RSM).
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years experience with PV equipment and installation.
- Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience maintaining and servicing solar monitoring systems (SolarEdge, SMA, SunPower Monitoring, Enphase, and other various monitoring sites).
- Experience maintaining and servicing solar inverters/micro-inverters (SMA, PVI, SolarEdge, Enphase, Fronius, Delta).
- Ability to read electrical plan sets and equipment manuals.
- Previous experience working with power/hand tools, electrical equipment, and the ability to navigate.
- Ability to work at great heights, work in extreme environments, perform prolonged periods of repetitious duties, and lift at least 30 pounds frequently.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable and safe driving record.
