PlanIT Group is hiring a Sr. Cloud Software Architect- Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO- Current and active Clearance. You can be in Springfield, VA or St. Louis, MO and will work onsite. You will d esign and define Cloud and/or software architecture for new or existing IT systems. Coordinates development to include design, modeling, security, integration and formal testing. Manages and documents system configurations. Oversees the transition into production process. Creates and maintains programmatic and technical documentation to insure efficient planning and execution.
This is a FTE/Perm role with an excellent benefits package.

Responsible for the architectural design, development, and deployment of the overall systems. Defines solutions based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. Design, configure, operate and perform maintenance on networking and systems — including hardware, software, web portals, internet and intranet connections, firewalls, servers, and security. Analyzes cloud and software needs. Works with development team to create effective user interfaces, networks, and hardware and software solutions. Customizes architecture to meet specific requirements. Oversees and implements failover solutions for all systems.

Skills/Qualifications:
Required:
- 7+ years of experience
- Bachelor's Degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering or any related IT field/major, or 8 additional years of experience without a Bachelor's Degree in architectural system design.
- In-depth knowledge, principles, and methods of enterprise solution.
- 5 years of experience designing and implementing complex systems in a classified environment.
- Experience developing strategic system architecture plans.
- Experience in system and network creation and development.
- Solid understanding of information processing fundamentals and best practices.
- Researches, designs, develops, and/or modifies enterprise-wide cloud solutions and/or applications software
- Designs, develops, codes, tests and debugs highly complex new software products or makes significant enhancements to existing software.
- Develops and applies advanced methods, theories, and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems.
- Resolves highly complex hardware/software compatibility and interface design considerations.
- Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity.
- Factors emerging technologies and product supportability into design and implementation.
- Provides input to staff involved in writing and updating technical documentation such as user manuals, system documentation, and training materials.
- Advises hardware engineers on machine characteristics that affect software systems, such as storage capacity, processing speed, and input/output requirements.
- Prepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to management and/or customer personnel.
- Serves as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basis.
- Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced software developers, and may have supervisory responsibilities.
- Serves as a technical team or task leader.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
- Participates in special project
- AWS Certified Solution Architect certification (Associate or Higher)
- Certified SAFe Agilist.
