Sr. Business Analyst - IT
Location: West Chester PA (Hybrid 3 days’ a week to office & 2 day remote)
Type: Contract to Hire
JOB SUMMARY:
In the IT Senior Business Analyst role they will be responsible for working with the business to collaborate, collect and document the requirements for business requests. They will also work with the stakeholders to build a business case, budget, and justification for the request. In addition, this role will work with multiple owners such as IT Apps, IT Ops, security and engineering to define and refine the requirements and analyze appropriate solutions addressing scalability, performance, availability, extensibility etc.
In the IT Senior Business Analyst role, they will be responsible for creating project plans with schedules, milestones, work tasks and budgets as defined and approved by the Business Analyst process.
What You’ll Do:
- Create project specific Business Requirement Documentation (BRD), build business process flows and maintain product documentation in confluence.
- Partner with Business leaders and stakeholders to build and present Business Cases with ROI
- Author data integrations and API related Consumer business requirements for client.
- Analyze data integrations business requirements, explore and evaluate various options, assist with development life cycle thereby validating the requirements, eliminating ambiguity and providing early visibility to business on the final solution.
- Has a strong focus on capturing core requirements, beyond stated requirements and accurately places these within a broader context
- Translate high-level requirements into actionable and incremental workloads, including user stories, testing and acceptance criteria. Provides inputs into business processes based on design capabilities
- Work closely with the IT staff to refine, validate and finalize BRDs as requested by users
- Create Project Plans to fulfill the implementation of the work requested by BRD. Provide schedules, milestones, work task and budget adjustments to support project plans
- Profile applications data to develop strong understanding of the data relationships, cardinality and quality of the data thereby helping in determining if the data can meet the high-level goals of information and integration needs as well as plan functional and test cycles.
- Reviews functional designs and obtains sign offs with the cross functional business and IT teams
- Collaborate and partner with business users to develop use cases for functional and User acceptance testing
- Coordinates integration testing, validates test cases with stakeholders for user acceptance testing and training, and obtains sign offs
- Adhere to the IT Change Management process to communicate with the business on requested and required changes to the IT systems and applications.
- Assist QA Engineers with building QA/UAT scripts and track the results to share with the project status updates.
- Effectively communicate and influence others towards moving to future state systems, applications, and architectures.
- Effectively engages with clients as well as contracted vendor services providing input to help monitor and improve the vendor’s performance.
- Collaborate with partners to identify and quantify business value of requests and ensure incidents and support requests are driven in a timely fashion and to business stakeholder satisfaction and provides knowledge transfer and feedback to assist team and co-workers.
- Establish and manage effective customer relationships with system users and technical team members.
- Provides strong strategic and technical thought leadership and ability to align diverse opinions.
- Improve time to market through the identification of re-useable technical assets.
- Work across diverse teams, perspectives and opinions and quickly build consensus.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent
- 8+ years of Business Analyst experience in finance, manufacturing, supply chain, distribution and wholesale industries
- Experience with integrating B2B & B2C processes, and able to work with Business to identify gaps
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including writing BRDs, SOPS, RFPs, Visio diagrams, and Power Point presentations.
- Strong Experience with solution delivery life cycle processes (e.g., Agile, DevOps, Waterfall, etc.)
- Ability to document user stories and data flows is required
- Experience working with Scrum/Kanban frameworks
- Working experience demonstrating the understanding and managing IT Vendor relationships
- Maintains a familiarity with market trends in technology
- Working experience with Microsoft Office and related applications.
- Travel 5 to 10%
Preferred:
- PMI - PMP or equivalent
- CSM or equivalent.
- PMI – PBA or equivalent
