Senior Construction Law Attorney
We are seeking an experienced Senior Construction Law Attorney to join our national firm's Construction Law practice group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction litigation and arbitration, with a proven track record of successfully representing clients in complex construction disputes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage complex construction litigation and arbitration cases from inception through resolution
- Represent clients in state and federal courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings
- Develop and implement litigation strategies for construction disputes
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
- Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses
- Negotiate settlements and participate in mediation proceedings
- Provide strategic advice to clients on risk management and dispute avoidance
- Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff
- Contribute to business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- 5+ years of experience in construction law, with a focus on litigation and arbitration
- Admission to practice law in relevant state(s)
- Extensive knowledge of construction contracts, industry standards, and applicable laws and regulations
- Strong analytical, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Proven ability to manage large-scale, complex construction disputes
- Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods, including mediation and arbitration
- Excellent project management and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with public and private construction projects
- Familiarity with various project delivery methods (e.g., design-bid-build, design-build, EPC)
- Background in engineering or construction management
- Active involvement in construction industry associations
