Sr. Accountant at Prestige Staffing

Overview

To perform all accounting functions related to the development and operation of Industrial Partners. Assist Accounting Manager with other projects as needed.

General Qualifications Required

Experience:

Two to four years??? accounting experience required
Development/job cost accounting or real estate accounting required
General Ledger accounting experience
Required computer skills include proficiency in Word and Excel
Experience with Yardi preferred

Major Areas of Responsibility

Development

• Prepare or review/post the following:
• payables ensuring accuracy and timely payment
• receipts of loan funding
• entries related to transfer asset balances and takedown of land for vertical development on both land estate and building
• calculation and payment of development fees
• entries for earnest money deposits
• OH capitalization entries
• capitalized lease-up losses entries for newly completed projects

• Update development reports and keep cost projections current.
• Review each project???s status for correct classification as proposed, under development, abandoned, or completed.
• Prepare construction loan draws.

  Operations
• Prepare or review/post the following:
• monthly tenant rent charges and payment receipts
• charges for tenant late fees as needed
• depreciation and amortization schedules
• other journal entries, receipts and charges
• bank reconciliation

• Monitor aged receivables and assist in collection efforts as needed.
• Prepare deferred rent schedules for new leases and recurring entries in Yardi.
• Prepare and review month-end close reports, including a detailed trial balance, income statement, general ledger, budget variances, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Track and reconcile tenant???s security deposits and tenant improvement costs.

  Joint Venture Reporting
• Prepare contribution requests as needed.
• Prepare monthly joint venture reporting package, including financial reports and budget variance explanations.

  Support Functions

  • Assist in preparing annual business plan and building-level operating budgets.
  • Assist in preparing annual audit schedules and work directly with audit teams to provide requested information for testing.
