Overview
SRI International is seeking a motivated and experienced Sr Project Manager for the Bright Ceramic Technologies (BCT) division. Bright Ceramic Technologies group delivers critical technologies to DoD based on its unique materials platform. SRI is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual with some technical/engineering experience, good financial literacy, and strong leadership potential to support this mission.
The Program Manager’s responsibilities will initially include proposal development, project and program management, and project financial performance monitoring, later growing to include personnel management, project planning and budgeting, and customer relationship management. This position fulfills a critical role to drive project and production planning and execution.
This is an on-site position in Palo Alto, CA.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Operations Director to support Bright’s mission.
- Coordinate the engineering team and production technicians to develop and manage assigned production projects on time and within budget.
- Develop and encourage use of standardized processes and procedures within the BCT group.
- Analyze and assimilate project performance indicators to forecast future performance.
- Act in close partnership with Engineering and the Research and Development teams to understand, integrate, and manifest new and improved products, processes, and procedures into Bright production operations.
- Executes project plans, manages project personnel, and monitors budget to meet client and project lead requirements on time, with high quality, and to completion.
- Updates project deliverable plan as needed and accurately maintains overall project status.
- Establishes clear ownership for all key project deliverables.
- Ensures project deliverables meet security and other compliance standards.
- Coordinates activities of project personnel, sets priorities, responsibilities, and monitors the performance of project team members.
- Plans, schedules, tracks cost, manages the resolution of issues, tracks deliverables, coordinates resources and manages risks.
- Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special projects.
- Ensures excellent communication between stakeholders, resources, executives and other constituents.
- Works closely with internal and external project stakeholders to define project requirements, scope, risks, and objectives.
- Identifies need, business benefit, practicality and cost-benefit or return on investment. Ensures that solutions are consistent with company objectives.
- Ensures project documentation is complete, meets the requirements of the customer, and has been delivered to the appropriate personnel.
- Coordinates and prepares project status reports.
- Schedules and facilitates meetings related to the project.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in in the field of engineering.
- 10-12 years of related experience in government contracting and/or project management.
- U.S. Citizenship. Either currently have or possess the ability to gain and maintain a Department of Defense security clearance.
- General knowledge of GAAP, CAS, & DFAR/FAR. MBA a strong plus.
- Ability to be self-directed as well as work collaboratively in a team environment.
The ideal candidate would have a combination of the following attributes:
- Familiarity and experience with project management methodologies and principles; PMP or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
- Experience with the Department of Defense or Military Service acquisition or operations a plus.
- Government project management experience a plus.
- Leadership – must be a strategic thinker able to guide action based on strategic goals.
- Teamwork – must be able to work effectively in a team and have experience to be a team lead.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong presentation skills, strong proficiency in office automation (Office 365).
The salary range is: $139,940.00-$185,420.00. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles. Positions may also qualify for SRI's Pay for Outstanding Performance program or the annual Performance Based Compensation program.
