Your Career

Our Cloud Management Platform group is in search of passionate Backend Engineers responsible for developing and designing our scalable microservices used to activate all Palo Alto Networks cloud products.

We are seeking experienced senior-level Software Engineers to develop and deliver next-generation technologies within our Shared Services team. We want passionate engineers who love to code, build great products, and bring new ideas in all facets of software development. Collaboration and teamwork are at the foundation of our culture and we need engineers who can communicate and work well with others towards achieving a common goal.

Your Impact

1. Collaborate with development teams and product managers to ideate and design software solutions
2. Design and develop robust backend services using 5 or more years of expertise in GoLang, NodeJS
3. Architect both client-side and server-side systems
4. Develop and manage scalable NoSQL or SQL databases and applications
5. Create effective REST APIs with support for versioning
6. Write test-driven code to ensure high-quality software
7. Produce comprehensive functional and design specifications
8. Provide suggestions and ideas for framework improvements
9. Develop data-driven software with a focus on a generic design approach
10. Innovate and introduce new ideas to the team
11. Proactively solve problems and deliver high-quality solutions

Your Experience

1. MS/BS in Computer Science or equivalent military experience
2. Proficiency in GoLang; Node.js is a plus.
3. Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes ecosystems
4. Expertise in NoSQL, SQL, or Graph databases
5. Knowledge of infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform
6. Understanding of DevOps practices, including observability and monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
7. Experience with CI/CD processes
8. Basic understanding of data security and protection principles
9. Familiarity with testing frameworks and writing unit tests for Go, NodeJS applications
10. Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message queues like Kafka, RabbitMQ
11. Familiarity with common software stacks and data structures and algorithms
12. Experience in writing secure code is advantageous
13. Knowledge of various front-end technologies, libraries, and tools including NextJS, ReactJS is a big plus
14. Experience with public cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS is a plus

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $170,000 - $277,000/YR.
