Senior ETL Engineer (ON SITE IN VENTURA REQUIRED)

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior ETL Engineer for a long term contract.  As a Senior ETL Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining efficient and reliable ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and timely delivery to support critical business decisions.

Responsibilities:

• Design and Development:
  • Design and develop robust ETL processes using industry-standard tools and technologies (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS, Python, SQL)
  • Collaborate with business analysts and data architects to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications
  • Develop complex data transformations, aggregations, and calculations to meet business needs
  • Optimize ETL processes for performance and scalability
• Data Quality and Validation:
  • Implement data quality checks and validation procedures to ensure data accuracy and consistency
  • Monitor ETL processes and troubleshoot issues promptly
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent future problems
• Data Modeling:
  • Participate in data modeling activities, including dimensional and relational modeling
  • Understand and adhere to data governance and security standards
• Team Leadership and Mentoring:
  • Mentor junior ETL engineers and provide guidance on best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within budget
• Performance Tuning:
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in ETL processes
  • Implement performance optimization techniques to improve execution time and resource utilization

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in ETL development and data warehousing
• Strong proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (Python, Perl, etc.)
• Expertise in ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or similar)
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data integration techniques
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
