Sr Director - Salesforce Practice Lead - Maximus

Reporting into the VP of Solutions Engineering and Delivery, the Salesforce Practice Lead will be responsible for establishing and leading the Salesforce practice within the organization. This role requires a strategic leader who can define the vision, develop and grow the team, oversee and have ultimate responsibility for successful Salesforce based projects, and support capture pipelines. The Sr. Director will play a key role in shaping the practice's future, driving growth, and ensuring excellence in delivery.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Foster an environment of experimentation and continual improvement through regular iterations, technical debt reduction and an architectural roadmap.
- Use extensive management skills and experience to develop technical and managerial leadership skills and create a vibrant culture of mutual support and motivation.
- Demonstrate "servant leader" mentality adept at maximizing team performance in an engineering setting, including coaching and consulting.
- Stay in sync with multiple development and product teams routinely reviewing specs and roadmaps to assure development cycles stay on time and are of the highest quality.
- Oversee a highly-engaged geographically distributed team of employees and contingent staff while directly managing senior managers, technical directors, and individual contributors.
- Closely collaborate with technology and business partners across the firm to scale existing products to new lines of business while also advancing our digital agenda through automation and straight through processing.
- Create strategic, and highly- functional, team partnerships with business and other application technology leaders.
- Provide stewardship of a client- centric service operating model that maintains a strong emphasis on rapid product development as well as end to end operational-rigor.
- Utilize best in class technology solutions to develop compelling features Clients will love that also advance strategic agendas, like ongoing application modernization, retirement of legacy platforms, cross-enterprise scaling, cloud migration, and move towards DevOps.

1. Strategic Leadership:
• Define the strategic roadmap for building a scalable and profitable Salesforce practice.
• Align the Salesforce practice vision with the organization's overall technology and business strategies, and work to align this vision with Salesforce leadership.
• Develop long-term plans for competency building, market expansion, and revenue growth.
2. Practice Development & Growth:
• Build and lead a team of Salesforce professionals, including architects, Consultants, developers, and administrators.
• Oversee talent acquisition, training, certification attainment, and career development within the Salesforce practice.
• Drive the development of reusable IP, tools, and accelerators to streamline implementations.
• Partner with other technical and solution leaders from across the organization
3. Project Delivery & Client Management:
• Oversee the successful delivery of Salesforce implementation projects from inception to completion with ultimate accountability for success.
• Ensure best practices in Agile/DevOps processes, Salesforce development standards, and project governance are adopted and is aligned with the COE
• Partner with business development, business operations and other technology teams to deliver high-quality client experiences.
• Lead key client relationships, providing strategic guidance on Salesforce solutions.
• Own the Salesforce subcomponent and collaborate with other leads to architect and deliver a solution that exceeds client expectations.
4. Partnership & Ecosystem Engagement:
• Partner with Salesforce to align product and solution priorities to leverage the delivery opportunities created by Salesforce.
• Maintain and grow the organization's Salesforce practice, including staying updated on new Salesforce products and updates.
• Engage with the Salesforce partner ecosystem, including ISVs and third-party vendors, as well as Salesforce employees by engaging with Maximus Salesforce partner liaison.
• Attend industry events, Salesforce conferences (e.g., Dreamforce, Agentforce World Tour DC) as required.
5. Business Development & Sales Support:
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to identify new Salesforce project opportunities and build client proposals.
• Contribute to the capture cycle by proposing solutions, estimates, and timelines.
6. Operational Excellence & Governance:
• Implement robust operational processes to ensure quality, consistency, and efficiency across all Salesforce projects.
• Define KPIs and reporting frameworks to measure project success, customer satisfaction, and team performance.
• Ensure compliance with Salesforce best practices, data security, and regulatory requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 12-15 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
- At least 5+ years of people management experience with both on shore direct reports and offshore vendor management.
- Strong background in driving large technical projects from conception to rollout/production.
- Experience managing production incidents with a repeatable process.
- Experience working in multi-team agile development programs.
- Knowledge of cutting edge technologies and toolkits.
- Interest in being actively involved in development and ideation of new features and platforms.
- Experience developing organizational and product KPI's.
- Broad and deep knowledge of technology and trends.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to interact with levels of staff and senior executive management successfully.
1. Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field (master's degree or MBA preferred).
2. Experience:
a. 12+ years of overall experience in IT consulting or enterprise-level technology implementations.
b. 8+ years of experience with Salesforce platform solutions.
c. 5+ years of leadership experience, including team management and practice building in a technology services environment.
d. Proven experience in managing complex Salesforce implementations in public sector
3. Skills:
a. Knowledge of Salesforce products, platform and ecosystem.
b. Strong leadership and people management skills with experience in building high-performance teams.
c. Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to interact with C-level executives, clients, and technical teams.
d. Strategic thinker with experience in business development, client relationship management, and market positioning.
4. Certifications:
a. Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or other Salesforce certifications.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
