Job Summary
Lead HR Director overseeing business partner support across PSEG's Operating Companies – PSE&G, PSEG Power and PSEG Services. Responsible for leading team to develop and deliver strategic HR solutions that align with business objectives. Builds trust and credibility with executive team and employees. Works regularly with leadership to foster an inclusive culture, support talent management initiatives, and drive employee engagement. Has and develops an understanding of business strategies and priorities with ability to connect business strategies into relevant people strategies. Provides proactive solutions to complex business challenges on a broad range of HR areas, ensuring compliance with HR policies, and delivers on people strategies that support overall business goals.
Boldly takes on issues and challenges, comfortably working through conflict; communicates messages without hesitation and deals promptly and fairly with employee relations issues while working on various projects simultaneously.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide coaching to leadership, offering insight, feedback and a proactive plan to align LOB organization with HR strategies to achieve desired business results and developmental goals
- Administer corporation wide initiatives in partnership with HR centers of excellence and HR Business Partner team. Builds and leads a team of highly qualified, high performing HR professionals to support business unit goals and objectives
- Oversees and provides tactical direction on HR matters to Business Leaders.
- Provides the means by which HR staff can support company leadership and the implementation of HR programs, products, and services
- Strong project/program leadership skills with a proven track record of good judgment, innovative thought leadership, creative problem solving, and the ability to mobilize a team
- Strong collaborator with ability to reach beyond immediate scope to influence and lead change in partnership with colleagues and business leaders
- Can balance the tactical and strategic elements of work
- Supports the assurance functions, including employee relations, compliance, and auditing.
Job Specific Qualifications
- Bachelors degree; with 10 years plus of leadership experience with a combination of both strategic and operational Human Resource experience in a highly competitive/growth industry
- Prior experience working as a human resources business partner
- Ability to manage, develop and influence people, projects and programs in different functional groups
- Ability to allocate resources and understanding budgetary implications
- Must be a problem solver and have the ability to create unique solutions by applying knowledge of different HR strategies, programs, policies and practices
- Strong business acumen and strong executive presence
- Ability to counsel and influence management and employees
- Demonstrated ability to navigate successfully in a fast-paced, multi-tasking and dynamic organization employing influence/negotiation/coaching skills with senior executives
- Knowledge and practical application of HR disciplines including employment and labor laws, employee relations, management and leadership development, performance management, organizational design, recruitment and compensation philosophies
Desired:
- Experience leading transformation of Business Partner function.
- Experience in 2 to 3 different HR disciplines
- Demonstrated track record in leading and executing HR efforts spanning across talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, performance management, culture, employee relations, succession planning, compliance, professional and organizational development
- Excellent communication skills (oral, and listening) and presentation skills
