Description
- Primary focus is to build a strong understanding of our business model throughout our practice and within UHPS.
- Responsible for the collection, analysis and reporting of professional department business data in support of professional operations and business development.
- Leads development efforts, monitoring and reporting of annual professional department budget in coordination with system-wide UH Hospitals to ensure strategic and operational alignment of professional department resources with department activities.
- Responsible for coordination and integration of all professional coding and billing functions, to ensure accurate coding of services, in collaboration with UHPS finance and revenue cycle personnel.
- Leads development of business plans for the expansion of department professional services within the health system and throughout northeast Ohio.
- Effectively helps drive implementation of such plans from start to finish, within budget and with high client satisfaction.
- Manages the administration activities of the department research program, including grant billing and implementation.
- Participates in strategic planning and other department related initiatives as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (Required) and
- Master's Degree in business management or accounting (Preferred)
- Pathology or healthcare related experience (Preferred) and
- 3+ years of experience within a healthcare environment, preferably within pathology. (Preferred) and
- Pathology business office management experience with experience with operating and capital budgeting. (Preferred) and
- CPT coding/billing experience (Preferred)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. (Required proficiency)
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to work collaboratively at all levels of the organization. (Required proficiency)
- Strong organization skills with meticulous attention to detail. (Required proficiency)
- Exceptional computer and related software, Microsoft Office Suite applications , printers, fax/copy machines, phone systems, Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) (Required proficiency)
