Maximus is looking to hire a Sr Analyst - Sys Analysis to support the AidVantage Program under the FSA Department of Education portolio.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as primary point of contact with MAXIMUS project staff and/or clients to define the business and technical requirements of assigned projects.
- Act as primary liaison between project business staff and technical staff.
- Responsible for gaining a detailed understanding of components of the business and translating that knowledge into the requirements for systems or processes.
- May lead area of requirements development including work plan development and task, timeline and resource management.
- Define and document data file extracts, automated process flows and report structure, image and content to support application development, enhancement and maintenance.
- Design, document and produce ad hoc reports for supported projects that tabulate, summarize and report data to support project activities.
- Evaluate and recommend enhancements to application efficiency and reliability.
- Test application processes and participates in design and code walkthroughs.
- Audit, evaluate, track and report implementation and activity of project applications for QA/QC compliance.
- Assist with system support activities to address requested changes and enhancements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Continued:
- Assist with implementing the design, analysis, interpretation, and evaluation of a variety of reports, internal / external resource documents and surveys.
- Test application processes and participate in design and code walkthroughs.
- Audit, evaluate, track and report implementation and activity of project applications for QA / QC compliance.
- Serve as a point of contact for designated product and process SME knowledge.
- Serve as a point of contact for the project and change management teams related to business processes and related systems.
- Act as a liaison between project business staff and technical staff.
- Communicate status, risks, and issues to senior management and/or the client as appropriate.
- Contribute to new product development and improvement in product delivery and presentation.
- Apply business process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies/principles and business process transformation projects.
- Work with functional area directors/managers and subject matter experts to define specific change requirements.
- Understand business problems and opportunities in the context of the requirements.
- Increase effectiveness of project documentation such as reports and client communication.
- Obtain status updates and resolve questions from operational areas.
- Assist with system support activities to address requested changes and enhancements.
- Support knowledge sharing activities around system and business processes.
- Analyze system data and performance reports to identify trends and business impact.
- Interact with all levels within the organization; develop working relationships with management, staff, stakeholders and business partners.
- Participate in meetings and evaluate outcomes to ensure needs of project stakeholders are being met.
- Contribute to the efficient execution of business meetings with internal project staff, clients, other servicers, and/or project vendors.
- Develop solutions to a variety of complex problems.

- Maintain extensive and comprehensive working knowledge of all assigned programs and projects.
Additional Duties:
- Performs other duties as required by the Project Director(s) and/or the Lead Analyst(s).
- Ensures compliance with all contract requirements.
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with clients and other external entities.
- Oversees the development and implementation of innovative methodologies to improve service levels and overall operational efficiency.
- Manages efficient execution of business meetings with internal project staff, clients and/or project vendors.
- Documents best practices and continuously measures outcomes for desired results.
- Generates solutions to issues and complex problems.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in related field.
- 5-7 years of relevant professional experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
Minimum Requirements Continuted:
- Direct processing knowledge within multiple Back Office areas, tasks and functions including, but not limited to the following is preferred: Claims, Deferments, Enrollment, Forbearances, Forgiveness, Military, Repayment Options, and the various systems and automations used including, but not limited to CLASS, Encore, IDT, PACs, scripts, RPAs.
- Proven ability with operational analysis, processes and performance indicators.
- Capable of performing comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
- Able to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills.
- Capable of working as a team member as well as independently.
Additional Requirements as per contract/client:
- FSA Department of Education experience preferred
- Must reside in the U.S.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Must not be delinquent or in default on any federal student loans.
Employment and continued employment are contingent upon obtaining and maintaining a favorable clearance. Final suitability determination is the sole discretion of the Department of Education.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
