Sr Accountant at SlingShot Connections

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage staff performance, ensuring satisfactory job performance and cross-training

• Assist the Controller with monthly financial close, producing related financial/operational reports, and annual budget review

• Interact with departments to ensure accuracy of costs and financial reporting; perform cost analysis and assist in cost analysis for farm products and raw materials

• Perform monthly closings for farm financial statements, budget reports, and month-end closing

• Prepare account reconciliations and inventory cycle counts

• Prepare accurate, timely reports for management and provide financial and operational analysis support

• Assist with contracts and general farm purchases

• Maintain capital accounts, files, and reporting

• Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments and proper general ledger coding

• Review and monitor cash and collections of AR; oversee credit application verification process

• Enforce compliance with GMP/HACCP and Safety rules and regulations; attend and/or conduct Safety meetings as required

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field

• 2-3 years’ experience in general accounting (AR, AP, PR, GL), preferably in manufacturing or agriculture

• Previous supervisory experience

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

• Highly organized with strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and accounting software
