Pay Rate - $45Hr - $55Hr. DOE

FUNCTION: The speech therapist's responsibilities include performing patient assessments, developing individual treatment plans, liaising with family members, and other healthcare professionals, administering therapy and monitoring progress, and ensuring patients and their families are informed of new treatments and therapy techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Master's degree in speech therapy or speech-language pathology.
• Relevant license and certification.
• Experience with certain disorders and age groups may be required.
• Sound understanding of speech-related disorders and treatments.
• Familiarity with database management software.
• Excellent relationship-building skills.
• Resourcefulness and strong problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to conduct research and travel to conferences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each key function satisfactorily.
1. Assessing, diagnosing, screening, and preventing language, speech, and swallowing disorders.
2. Communicating with the patient, and liaising with their family members, physicians, and teachers to design effective treatment plans.
3. Using tried and tested therapies in combination with new, innovative techniques to provide the best care.
4. Keeping up-to-date with advancements in the field by attending conferences, conducting research, and expanding professional and academic networks.
5. Educating patients and their families on speech disorders and available therapies.
6. Taking detailed notes on patient history and progress.
7. Providing mentoring and workshops to speech therapy students.

9. Demonstrates ability to read, write, and speak English sufficient to fulfill job requirements.
10.Demonstrates the ability to make independent decisions, solve practical problems that may or may not include a variety of concrete variables. This may require the ability to interpret instructions given in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form.
11.Demonstrates the ability to listen actively and evaluate social situations in an objective, consistent and fair manner. Functions independently with integrity, flexibility and works well with residents, personnel and support agencies.
12.Complies with community policies and procedures for workplace safety including infection control procedures, emergency response and safety protocol.
13.Complies with all company policies and procedures related to resident rights; abuse prevention and reporting; and resident confidentiality (HIPPA).
14.Demonstrates knowledge of Employee Handbook and complies with the policies in the Handbook.
15.Performs other related duties as may be assigned
