Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Speech Language Pathologist provides speech, language, and dysphagia services, including evaluations, care planning, and treatment for patients.
Essential Functions:
- Utilizes an outward mindset to achieve personal and team goals.
- Conducts patient evaluations and administers treatments for speech and swallowing disorders.
- Designs and updates care plans and goals.
- Communicates with physicians through reports.
- Maintains documentation per standards and regulations.
- Engages in ongoing education and stays updated on industry trends.
- Participates in committees and staff meetings.
Minimum Qualifications: Masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology, Clinical Fellow status or Certificate of Clinical Competence, and eligibility for licensure in Michigan. BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Experience with diverse age groups and ventilator-dependent patients preferred. Strong communication, organizational, and evaluative skills are essential. Knowledge of communicative disorders and ability to work in an interdisciplinary team is required.
Working Conditions: Exposure to infectious diseases and radiation in a controlled setting; may work in unpredictable home environments.
Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, reach, and lift/carry up to 50+ lbs.
