About the Role
Preschool Science Teachers at The Rhoades School have the unique opportunity to inspire and engage gifted and intellectually curious students through science education. This role focuses on fostering an early interest in science by exploring basic scientific concepts and encouraging hands-on experimentation, curiosity, and discovery. The curriculum balances fundamental skills in literacy and math with science, art, music, and essential social skills while emphasizing character development.

- Develop science-related classroom resources and a physical environment that supports early science education and exploration.
- Create hands-on science activities that allow students to experiment, observe, and understand basic scientific principles.
- Collaborate with other faculty and school teams to enhance the overall student experience.
- Continuously adapt and integrate various instructional methods to cater to gifted learners.
- Communicate effectively with parents to support student achievement in science.
What We Are Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish to support a diverse student population.
- 12 ECE Units in early childhood education or child development, completed with passing grades (C or better) at an accredited or approved college or university.
- Schedule: 9:00 am - 5:30 pm.
- Strong communication skills to help students delve deeply into scientific exploration.
- Ability to successfully pass a state and federal background check.
- At least six months of work experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.
