About this Role
The part time Special Events Manager is responsible for assisting in managing aspects of development with donors and events including maintaining positive relationships with customers, donors, and stakeholders to expand and assist with diversification of resources. Provide donor revenue development through donor cultivation and special events in the promotion of FamilyCore programs. Responsibilities:
- Prepare, implement, and assist with the Annual Development Plan, including special events, direct mail, and planned giving.
- Writing, designing, and preparation of all materials for fund-raising efforts, including but not limited to, campaign solicitation letters, lists of donors' and prospects, financial status reports, and recognition and acknowledgement of contributors.
- Prepare and assist in the implementation of full event cycle (strategy, budgeting, record keeping, sponsorship solicitation and development, close out, and evaluation) for major events such as, but not limited to, Golf Outing, and Frosty 5k.
- Recruit and screen volunteers for various FamilyCore programs. Assist the Human Resources Director with data entry, compliance mechanisms, filing and benefit upkeep, orientation preparation, and various duties of moderate difficulty.
- Assist in the oversight of the development and maintenance of procedures and distribution of quality documentation that complies with the requirements of charity laws, accreditation, licensing, and contracts.
- Collaborate and contribute to team and FamilyCore quality improvement and evaluation activities.
- Adhere to standards adopted through Council on Accreditation.
- Ability to organize and maintain data and confidential information.
- Develop and maintain working relationships with all internal and external clients.
- Ensure safety protocols and policies are practiced at all times.
- Assume responsibility for professional development and cultural competency.

Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in business, marketing, or related area required.
- 4-6 years related experience required. Substitution allowed for some college and/or equivalent experience.
- Customer relations, donor relations, or sales experience required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.

- Oversee the development and maintenance of procedures and distribution of quality documentation that complies with the requirements of accreditation, licensing, and contracts.

- Highly responsive to client and staff needs with respect to the National Association of Social Workers Code of Ethics.

- Working knowledge of fundraising software.

- Utilize time tracking software and all other software required to fulfill duties.
- Safe, reliable personal vehicle, to be used for FamilyCore business.
- Must possess valid Illinois Driver's License in good standing and proof of valid vehicle insurance.
- Must pass required background check with Illinois Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS).
- Must pass background checks with Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Health Care Worker Registry, and Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services OIG Provider Sanctions.
- Ability to be sensitive and understanding of cultural and lifestyle differences of all people regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, age, or background.
- Successfully complete FamilyCore training as required.
Physical:
- Regular sitting, walking, standing, grasping, fingering, reaching and lifting, pulling, pushing up to 15 lbs.
- Occasional stooping and reaching overhead.
- Operate general office equipment, including multi-line phone, fax machine, printer, copier, and personal computer, with or without dual monitors

- Work occurs in and out of an office environment. Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
