Well-known establishment in Philadelphia's vibrant restaurant scene, is seeking a Sous Chef to add to our dynamic team. As a popular destination for innovative Mexican cuisine, we've built a positive work environment that values creativity, longevity, and active involvement. Our annual sales close to $4M, and we are excitedly expanding into a new venture right next door!
Job Responsibilities:
- Work closely under the Chef/Owner on menu development and specials
- Participate in and guide the cooking process on the line
- Develop and implement innovative specials and menu items
- Contribute to our pop-up events, which significantly change the restaurant's appearance and menu four times a year
- Work hands-on, preparing food, butchering, and moving between stations
- Assist in supervising a staff that includes three chefs, eight line cooks, two dishwashers, and two prep cooks
Requirements:
- Prior experience with Latin or Mexican cuisine preferred
- Willingness to participate in several weeks of on-the-line training
- Must be ready to work hands-on, without a clipboard
- Open-minded and able to get along well with different personality types
- A desire for a long-term position
- Must pass a background check
Compensation:
- Salary range of $65,000-70,000
- Discretionary bonuses, with additional bonuses at Christmas
- Health and dental coverage, with a $200/month commitment towards the employee's selected plan
