Position Overview:

The Sous Chef will work closely with the Executive Chef to oversee kitchen operations, maintain high culinary standards, and ensure exceptional dining experiences for guests. This role requires strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to excellence in every dish prepared.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and staff supervision.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest quality standards and in accordance with established recipes and presentation guidelines.
- Manage kitchen staff, providing training, guidance, and feedback to foster professional growth and teamwork.
- Monitor inventory levels and oversee ordering to ensure the availability of fresh, high-quality ingredients while minimizing waste.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items, seasonal specials, and creative concepts.
- Oversee food cost management and work to achieve budgetary targets without compromising quality.
- Act as the point of contact for kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef.
- Participate in hiring, scheduling, and performance evaluations of kitchen staff.
Qualifications:
- Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a similar role within a high-volume or fine dining establishment.
- Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, flavor profiles, and food safety standards.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Creative approach to menu development and problem-solving.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
