Job Description:
The Sourcing Agent performs routine, low-complexityprocurements below the bid threshold, primarily for products but occasionallyfor routine services. This includes requirements clarification, solicitingbids, evaluating quotations and selecting suppliers in a manner that maximizestotal long-term value to the enterprise and optimizes the cost/benefitrelationship while meeting or exceeding delivery, quality, service riskmanagement and diversity requirements. This position also supports Negotiatorsand Sourcing Specialists by completing routine administrative requests and/orspecific tasks within larger sourcing projects. Execute and manage the fulllife-cycle of procurement transactions for contract-based materials andservices including purchase order creation, dispatch, acknowledgement,expediting, match exception resolution and purchase order close. Supports bothauto sourced and non-auto sourced transactions. Process requisitions forroutine, well-specified materials (and occasionally services) not on contract.Solicit, evaluate and document quotes as required, in addition to creating POs,dispatching POs, obtaining acknowledgements, expediting, resolving matchexceptions and closing POs. Perform routine administrative tasks in support ofprojects led by Negotiators and Sourcing Specialists such as: Distribute andcollect NDAs required prior to issuance of RFXs Gather, organize andprepare/post drawings, requirements and specifications for RFPs Gatherpreliminary supplier lists, seeking to include diverse suppliers Schedulemeetings on behalf of sourcing leads May attend pre-bid meetings to recordquestions, clarifications and modifications Set up new suppliersCollect/organize supplier questions and gather information for responses duringRFP Create bid tabulations Gather/organize final documentation for completedprojects Issue POs Resolve match exceptions Provide secondary support fordepartment operations such as planning/scheduling meetings, administeringinternal and external electronic resources (SharePoint sites, systems, Experian, PSC, etc.), gatheringinformation and obtaining office supplies.

Ability to complete routine procurement transactionseffectively, efficiently and accurately from requisition to purchase orderclose in a fast-paced environment Awareness of procure-to-pay process andprocurement-related policies, procedures, processes and risks, and ability toapply that understanding to daily work Basic understanding of the role ofprocurement and how procurement creates value for the enterprise Workingknowledge of PeopleSoft and/or other procurement-related software Proficiencyin creating and manipulating basic spreadsheets and creating Word documentsEffective oral and written communication skills Strong customer service andteam focus Familiarity with utilities industry and/or operations Bachelors degree in Business,Engineering, Supply Chain or related field; OR four (4) years of relevant workexperience is required. Utility or construction industry experience preferred. Understandingof the role of Supply Chain and how it creates value within the business Basicquantitative and analytical skills Effective oral and written communicationsskills Skilled in using Microsoft Office suite, particularly Word, Outlook andExcel Working knowledge of PeopleSoft or other Supply Chain Management/ERPsoftware Education/Experience Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, SupplyChain or related field; OR four (4) years of relevant work experience isrequired.
