Compensation: $105,000 - $160,000 based on experience and credentials
Location Type: Remote, candidate must reside in one of several remote hire locations
The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing and implementing solutions that address specific business problems. The incumbent works closely with stakeholders and enterprise leaders to translate requirements to technical solutions. This role involves a mix of technical expertise and business acumen to ensure that the solutions meet desired strategic key performance indicators.
Responsibilities:
- Design, document, and validate enterprise-level architectural solutions that meet the organization’s strategic goals.
- Collaborate with business leaders, IT, Info Security, Digital Strategy, Enterprise Agility (product group), Engineering, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and integrate them into the enterprise architecture to improve performance and maintainability.
- Design and oversee the integration of diverse systems, ensuring seamless operation and data flow across platforms.
- Identify opportunities for implementing new strategies related to application development, focusing on improving effectiveness.
- Provide guidance and technical leadership to business leaders and development teams, ensuring best practices are followed.
- Maintain detailed documentation of architecture design, implementation, and maintenance processes.
- Identify risks in collaboration with Security and Risk Management partners, business leaders and stakeholders.
- Mitigate risks associated with architectural decisions and technology implementations by developing effective evolutionary architecture.
- Ensure a high standard of security for the architecture solutions by complying with regulatory requirements and contributing to the solution’s threat model.
- Complete administrative requirements in an accurate and timely manner.
- Serve as a leader in technology through coaching and acting as a resource for all team members and partners.
- Cultivate strong working relationships and build trust among all teams.
Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise.
Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge.
- Complete annual compliance and info security training to understand employees' role in maintaining effective compliance and security programs.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience with software systems, including progressively increasing levels of responsibility
- A minimum of 7 years of system engineering and design
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience with a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- A minimum of 5 years of relational database design
- A minimum of 2 years of No-SQL storage design
- Advanced knowledge of all .Net and Windows technologies (or similar)
- Experience defining and using reference architectures for cloud-native and on-premise solutions
- Experience with various distributed system communication patterns (synchronous, asynchronous, event driven, event sourcing, etc.)
- Knowledge of modern networks, internal, external, edge, and cloud
- Ability to understand business processes and to align technical solutions with business goals
- Excellent diagramming skills to effectively communicate design and process
- Ability to mentor other peers in technology
- Experience working with data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure Synapse)
Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized
Able to analyze and resolve difficult and often complex problems and situations
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job
Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to influence others regarding policies, practices, and procedures
