We are seeking a highly skilled Software Tester with expertise in DO-178C standards to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring that our software systems meet the stringent safety and quality requirements for airborne systems and equipment. You will work closely with developers, engineers, and quality assurance teams to validate and verify software in compliance with DO-178C objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and maintain test plans, procedures, and test cases in accordance with DO-178C guidelines.
- Perform software verification activities, including reviews, analyses, and testing at all levels (Unit, Integration, and System).
- Ensure traceability between requirements, test cases, and test results per DO-178C standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine software requirements and ensure testability.
- Conduct rigorous software testing, including functional, structural coverage, and robustness testing.
- Analyze and document test results, discrepancies, and non-conformances, ensuring resolution and compliance.
- Support audits, reviews, and assessments for DO-178C compliance, including SOI (Stage of Involvement) audits by certification authorities.
- Provide expertise in tool qualification processes when using automated testing tools as part of the DO-178C workflow.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes and procedures in a regulated environment.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in software testing within a DO-178B/C environment.
- Strong understanding of DO-178C objectives, processes, and traceability requirements.
- Develop automation test scripts using Python (basic skills required). Training will be provided on BETA's test environments, processes, methods, and tools.
- Experience with embedded debugging tools such as Segger J-Link, Lauterbach, etc. for software testing and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with testing tools such as VectorCAST, LDRA, or similar.
- Familiarity with airborne software systems and real-time embedded systems.
Skills:
- Proficient in test design and execution methodologies.
- Solid understanding of software verification techniques, including MC/DC (Modified Condition/Decision Coverage).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with ARP4754A and ARP4761 standards.
- Knowledge of programming languages (e.g., C, C++) used in embedded systems.
- Familiarity with avionics certification tools and processes.
- Certification in relevant areas (e.g., ISTQB, DO-178C Specialist Certification).
