Although services are a bigger part of Apple's business than ever before, these teams remain small, forward-thinking, and cross-functional, offering greater exposure to the array of opportunities here. **Description** Join the ASE Media Processing team to lead the design, development, and optimization of powerful systems that process and mange media assets, enabling seamless delivery across Apple Media Products, including Apple TV+, Apple TV Channels, Music, Podcasts, Film, MLS, MLB, Audiobooks, App Trailers, and more. - Architect Scalable Solutions: Design and develop next-generation media processing pipelines that are highly efficient, scalable, and capable of handling both static and dynamic media assets. Create high-performance NoSQL/SQL database schemas optimized for fast writes and rapid metadata queries. - Collaboration: Partner with engineering, design, business operations, and production support teams to deliver end-to-end workflows and toolchains for video, audio, and image processing. Cultivate alignment across teams to ensure seamless integration and high-quality solutions. - Build and Mentor an Impactful Team: Lead, hire, and develop a team of dedicated engineers. Promote a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and innovation to drive outstanding results. - Drive Innovation and Execution: Develop a clear vision and roadmap for the team, propose solutions to meet business needs, and implement project plans to achieve strategic goals. - Uphold Apple's Standards: Ensure all systems meet Apple's meticulous standards of performance, quality, and scalability while finding opportunities for improvement and optimization. If so, we want to hear from you! **Minimum Qualifications** + Proven experience leading and growing engineering teams, including hiring, performance management, and team development. + Demonstrated ability to provide hands-on technical leadership, including mentoring, guiding, and motivating engineers. + Successful track record of leading large-scale engineering projects from inception to production. + Experience with Java. Any other JVM or functional languages like Kotlin is a plus. + Experience with elastic platforms, Kubernetes-based microservices, and distributed computing architectures. + Hands-on experience with data stores such as Cassandra, CockroachDB, Postgres, Redis, or similar technologies. + Proven track record of designing and implementing complex workflow systems. + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to convey technical ideas clearly and persuasively to non-technical customers. + Strong collaboration skills; experience working effectively with engineers, product managers, designers, and multi-functional teams. + Strong strategic mentality; capable of setting a clear vision, seeing the big picture, and driving team and platform growth in alignment with that vision. + Solid analytical skills with a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles. **Key Qualifications** **Preferred Qualifications** + BS in Computer Science plus 10 years of industry experience, or equivalent experience is desirable. **Education & Experience** **Additional Requirements** **Pay & Benefits** + At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $181,000 and $313,000, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
