Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Software Engineering Intern to join our team! In this role you will get to develop and test on our core decision support software capabilities that we employ for DoD war-gaming applications.
What You'll Be Doing:
+ Implementing software compliant with standards and integrate with existing software and systems, following requirements and designs.
+ Authoring design, interface, and user documentation.
+ Supporting periodic design reviews.
+ Defining, documenting, analyzing, performing and interpreting developmental tests for new and/or modified products or product components.
+ Investigating and resolving problems in conjunction with other engineering and technical personnel.
+ Software configuration management using Git or similar tools.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
+ Pursuing a B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer/Electronic Engineering disciplines.
+ Must have a GPA of 3.0 or above.
+ Proficiency with multiple programming languages: C++ is the main core language; other languages, such as C#, Java, Web Development technologies (ex: Angular, React, NodeJS, REST, Web Sockets, etc…) are a plus.
+ Proficiency with environment and configuration management tools: Visual Studio, Eclipse, GIT, JIRA, Maven, or equivalent.
+ Proficiency with Windows (primary) and Linux operating systems.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills and be self-motivated.
+ Ability to work individually and with a team.
+ Ability to quickly learn and creatively leverage new technologies.
+ Proficiency in MS Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
+ Familiarity with command/control and military oriented game systems such as Supreme Commander, Arma, or America’s Army. Game “modding” or interfacing is a plus.
+ Desire/ability to perform a test-oriented approach to learning software systems and software development.
+ Desire/ability to summarize findings details.
+ Desire/ability to "dig in", analyze issues, and try corrections.
