The Role:
The Polaris Data Management team is a product-focused team building the platform of the future for analytics application development. Polaris is a fully SaaS offering that combines the power of Apache Druid–the world’s most powerful real-time analytics DB–with the simplicity of a push-button service. As a frontend engineer on the Data Management team, you will build and maintain user experiences that make it easy for our customers to extract, transform, load, and manage billions of rows of data in minutes from a wide range of sources and services.

Responsibilities:
• Build great user experiences that make it easy for customers to easily link to a wide variety of streaming and batch data sources (such as Kafka and S3); extract, transform, load, and manage billions of rows of data; and gain insights into the health and performance of data management tasks
• Partner with both product and cross-functional teams to build, scale, and implement elegant application infrastructure solutions that scale and are built with enterprise-class operational excellence
• Drive operational excellence to ensure the team is able to respond quickly and efficiently if any incident were to occur
• Participate in on-call rotations, post-incident reviews, and other operational duties as needed to ensure service delivery quality
Requirements:
• 2+ years of experience building and shipping production quality frontend components in JavaScript (or TypeScript)
• Experience with frontend frameworks such as React, Vue.js, or Angular.js (we use React)
• Strong communication skills: ability to explain complex technical concepts to designers, support staff, and other engineers
Bonus Points:
• Experience with CI/CD
• Experience building data applications that have processed large amounts of data
• Familiarity with Druid or another large scale OLAP database
• Have a cool data app to demo that you’ve built
