About the Job
The Social Media Sr. Specialist plans and executes digital and social media communications regarding NY State of Health's overall social media presence including providing social media customer support. The Social Media Sr. Specialist creates all copy and creative including images, infographics, videos and more, measures social media efforts and engagements, and serves as the department subject matter expert.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Implement department strategies for the Client's social media community management using Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and other social media platforms to facilitate enrollment of individuals in healthcare and to increase visibility, influence, and image.
- Provide superior, start-to-finish customer service to consumers seeking answers, assistance, and other support via Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.
- Organize, and manage day-to-day online social media content, including copywriting, editing, and creating original graphics that meet channel goals and positively promote the growth of the Client's social media brand.
- Research, identify, and leverage current social media trends and topics related to health care, health insurance, health advocacy, and similar industries and implement them into the brand's ongoing communications efforts.
- Execute proactive and reactive social media communications to preserve brand's integrity.
- Execute editorial calendar.
- Act as a subject matter expert for the team.
- Develop overall monthly content for the editorial calendar.
- Develop proactive/reactive key crisis communications for the population.
- Serve as liaison to client counterparts for development of current and proposed deliverables and coordinate a project plan to ensure completion.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.
- Act as a subject matter expert for the team with regard to content creation, customer service,
reporting & analytics, marketing strategy, graphic design, and video development.
- Develop and execute communications as needed and deploy through traditional and electronic
methods.
- Coordinate with internal teams on creative tasks from design concept through completion of a
project.
- Work closely with department manager to lead projects and assist in training team members; act in leadership role in manager's absence.
- Plan and illustrate concepts by designing layouts of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type
size and style, and related aesthetics.
- Develop and oversee monthly content for the social media editorial calendar.
- Identify key performance indicators in the social media space, interpret all metrics and recommend
future strategies and tactics.
- Communicate and present information to leadership, stakeholders, and the client.

- Execute paid ads on social media, review performance and present strategic findings to key stakeholders.
- Responsible for adhering to established safety standards.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
- Occasionally lifts, carries, or otherwise moves items weighing up to 25 pounds.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of experience.
- Advanced degree or professional designation preferred.
- Develops solutions to a variety of complex problems.
- Work requires considerable judgment and initiative.
- Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated expertise in social media platform functionality, including in regard to engagement, analytics, scheduling, and optimization.
- Knowledge of professional social media management, online forums and conversation auditing
tools including, but not limited to Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Adobe Creative Cloud etc.
- Strong skills in copywriting and creating creative content for varied audiences; has ability to communicate in a direct, concise, compelling manner.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadline-driven projects.
- Strong business acumen.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of how to optimize and test social media messaging.
- Knowledge of the impact of social media on search engine optimization (SEO) and paid online
campaigns.
- Strong ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels to meet organizational goals.
- Experience in graphic design and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Previous communications experience in the healthcare and health insurance marketplace
preferred.
- Experience with social media crisis management preferred

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards.
