About the Position
Are you looking to drive equity goals in Boston through innovative construction projects and initiatives? Do you possess skills in construction project management and are eager to optimize contractor operations while integrating equity into every facet of project management? If so, JPNDC invites you to apply for the Small Contractor Success Accelerator Program Manager position.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Leadership and Strategy: Oversee strategic planning and execution to foster the growth and sustainability of small construction businesses in Greater Boston.
- Curriculum Development and Delivery: Coordinate training cohorts and deliver training on business management, construction-specific skills, and business planning.
- Technical Assistance: Assist contractors in accessing technical assistance related to business development, operations, finance, accounting, and securing certifications.
- Green Energy Network Building: Develop and implement a program to expand into the clean energy sector, offering training and support to MWBE contractors.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with industry experts, community leaders, educational partners, and funders.
- Mentorship Coordination: Facilitate participant-mentor matching and oversee mentoring sessions.
- Networking and Community Building: Organize industry events, workshops, and networking sessions.
- Resource Management: Manage program materials, online resources, and learning tools.
- Participant Support: Oversee the application and selection process, providing ongoing support to participants.
- Fundraising: Raise funds for program implementation from various sources.
- Program Evaluation and Reporting: Conduct assessments, gather feedback, and prepare reports for stakeholders and funders.
- Event Planning: Organize key events like graduation ceremonies to celebrate participant achievements.
Other Responsibilities
- Ensure equity priorities are incorporated into program planning, design, and implementation.
- Represent JPNDC at neighborhood meetings and hearings.
- Oversee program budgets and grant management.
- Communicate proactively with colleagues and partners.
Qualifications
Required:
- Thorough knowledge of construction procurement and management.
- 3-5 years of experience in construction management or a related field.
- Ability to translate procurement requirements into understandable formats for contractors.
- Commitment to JPNDC's mission and vision.
- Effective team collaboration and self-starter initiative.
- Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, Adobe/Acrobat.
- Strong time management skills and attention to detail.
Preferred:
- Proficiency in reading construction plans and specifications, project estimating, and bid proposal preparation.
- Highly entrepreneurial, proactive, and results-oriented.
- Demonstrated project and program management experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bilingual in Haitian Creole, Cape Verdean Creole, or Spanish is a plus.
Employment Terms/Compensation
This is a full-time, salaried position with a salary range of $60,000 - $80,000, depending on experience. The role includes a full benefits package and is a hybrid position, requiring three days a week in the office or at project sites, with some evening meetings.
