Position Overview: As the Shop Manager and Production Technician, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of production operations while actively participating in hands-on manufacturing tasks. This role requires strong leadership skills to manage a small team of production staff, as well as technical proficiency to perform various manufacturing duties.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Production Management:
o Plan and coordinate daily production activities to meet production targets and customer requirements.
o Assign tasks to production staff and provide guidance and support as needed to ensure smooth workflow.
o Monitor production processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
2. Hands-On Work:
o Perform a variety of manufacturing tasks, including welding, machining, assembly, and finishing, as needed to meet production demands.
o Utilize hand and power tools, machinery, and equipment safely and effectively to produce high-quality products.
o Work alongside production staff to demonstrate techniques and provide training as necessary.
3. Team Leadership:
o Lead by example and foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, cooperation, and mutual respect.
o Provide mentorship and support to production staff, encouraging skill development and continuous improvement.
o Conduct regular performance evaluations and address any issues or concerns in a timely and constructive manner.
4. Quality Assurance:
o Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure that products meet or exceed quality standards.
o Conduct inspections and quality checks throughout the production process to identify and address any defects or discrepancies.
o Work closely with the quality assurance team to implement corrective actions and preventive measures.
5. Safety Compliance:
o Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
o Conduct safety training sessions and promote awareness of safe work practices among production staff.
o Investigate and address any safety incidents or concerns promptly and effectively.
