SUMMARY
Assists supervisor in directing all aspects of the production for the shift. Acts as a backup when the supervisor is not available.
Shift Assistant Supervisor
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting the supervisor in directing all production activities and ensuring work is completed on time.
- Responsible for quality control checks throughout the production process.
- Responsible for providing the support necessary to maximize productivity.
- Responsible for recording and reporting on production data.
- Responsible for filling in as machine operator, sweeper, scheme builder, and pallet builder position as needed daily.
- Responsible for filling in as supervisor when the supervisor is not available.
Knowledge and Abilities
- Strong communication and computer skills
- Strong attention to detail, organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
- Ability to work under pressure of time constraints
- Strong motivational and direction abilities
- Ability to lift 50 lbs on a regular basis and occasionally more than 50 lbs
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods throughout each shift. Along with frequent bending, twisting, and pulling
- Flexible with scheduled work hours
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with the supervision of 20-25 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
